This year I lost my 30 year old mare, Lydia, who I'd owned for 23 years. It was a devastating loss for me, greater than I ever anticipated. My grief was deep and long-lasting. Rev. Leslie Heckathorn is a Staff Minister at the Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa. She has been active at the Center since 1998 serving in education classes, our youth program, and praying in Grinton Chapel. Her deepest calling is animal ministry. Leslie facilities the annual Animal Remembrance Service, Pet Loss Grief Support Workshops, and Visioning for the Center's Animal Ministry. She also participates in the annual Animal Blessing.
