Giving Intention 2016-2017 News

The Power of Sharing Our Good

The Giving Intention Team selected the following 12 nonprofit organizations from nominations submitted by people from our Center who are either closely connected to the agencies or who have benefited from their services.

Bal Ashram, a safe home in Varanasi, India, for orphaned and abandoned children; aspires to raise heart-centered citizens with a sense of responsibility for themselves and the global community

CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates, trained volunteers, appointed by judges, who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.

Children’s Village of Sonoma County, providing a safe, stable, nurturing home for siblings who are foster children—rather than splitting them up—in a home life that will not be terminated.

Earle Baum Center, a regional center serving people with sight loss from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border; focuses on independent living skills, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology services.

Food for Thought, a grassroots organization dedicated to meeting the nutritional needs of men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Sonoma County.

Khmer Child Foundation, empowering the lives of Cambodian children through education and quality of life assistance, ongoing fresh water wells projects, medical/hygiene assistance, and agricultural and life skills training.

The Launching Pad, a unique young adult ministry in Berkeley offering classes and workshops on Science of Mind principles with a leadership team comprised of young adults under the direction of Rev. Linda Reppond.

Mary Isaak Center, an emergency shelter, whose goal is to eliminate homelessness in our community; 30% of the participants leaving the shelter go into permanent housing.
PDI Surgery Center, the only nonprofit pediatric dental surgery center in the United States, providing a vital resource for children in urgent need of dental surgery in and beyond the North Bay.

Positive Images, providing support and advocacy to Sonoma County’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth and young adults, and educating the greater community.

Russian River Empowerment Center, a mental health and wellness drop-in center that provides a safe and supportive haven for those who want to transcend serious and persistent mental illness.

WillMar Family Grief and Healing Center, providing support for children and teens dealing with the loss of loved ones or living with a family member suffering from a life-changing illness or injury.

What I Receive

"The gentle, loving study, prayer, and community gifts I receive at the Center for Spiritual Living have awakened me to Spirit's good and grace at the core of my being; and that this Presence is, now, and always has been my Truth Diviner and Guide."
