1. We are living in a spiritual universe. The ultimate reality is God, Mind, Intelligence, or Spirit. God is both the Creator of all things and is all things.
2. There is an impersonal Law of Mind. This is the aspect of spiritual Reality through which and by the means of which It goes forth into expression. In the Mind of God there is a thought, the thought becomes manifest or tangible in accord with Law. Law is not a thing separate from God but the way and the means of God expressing.
3. God, spiritual Reality, is Presence and Person to each of us individually. God is in the midst of us, is what we are. Infinite Presence becomes personalized at ht ecenter of our being, warm, colorful, loving and joyous.

.....it's from this months assigned chapter.... are you keeping up your reading?

See you tomorrow at the Center, I'll be talking about "The Great Experiment" and sharing thoughts about integrity and living a spiritual life.

    Beyond Limits: Recognizing the Path

edward indian canyonTucked in the corner of the workbook's first page is a quote:  Spirituality is natural goodness.  God is not a person; God is a Presence personified in us.  Spirituality is not a thing; It is the atmosphere of God's Presence, goodness, truth and beauty.  Religion is a life, a living. These words are from Ernest Holmes, and they announce the spirit of the class that uses this workbook: Beyond Limits:  there is an all pervading Presence which we call God, and when we recognize It for what It is, and let is inform our choices and behavior, things change for the good.

Recognizing the Path is the first segment of the class and provides a foundation from which to begin exploring how to live a spiritual life.  Students are introduced to the New Thought Movement (a cute term since so much in the New Though Movement is based on very ancient thought) and the first Basic Idea--oneness--upon which everything else in the course is based.

A note from your teacher (that would be me, Edward Viljoen, and Kathleen Kearney--we are co-teaching the class, first 5 weeks by Kathleen and second by me--both of us long time lovers of this material):

This class is a special experience.  It is an investment in time that can pay off in incredible ways in your life.  You will be amazed at the growth in the coming 10-week period, and the growth that can ensue continuously thereafter.  This class is a supportive experience.  You may not have been in any class for a while, and may feel some trepidation about being here.  You will be nurtured and respected.  Just hang in there with everyone--you will be glad you did.

You'll learn about different forms of meditation, how the creative process works in the individual, te threefold nature of the One (that's a whole lot of fun, that lesson is), the benefit of cleaning up your language, the impact of your thinking on your life, emotions and habits, the recipe for affirmative style prayer, and so much more.

Class begins on May 14 and lasts for 10 weeks.  Details about the schedule and registration may be found here.

When My Friends Write I Get Inspired To Write Too

Even when I was a kid, I seemed to prefer to do what my friends were doing.  I enjoy doing activities in groups and I get inspired when I’m with people who are inspired by what they are doing.  Recently my colleague, Jeff Anderson, came into my office all smiley faced with the news that his book The Nature of Things:  Navigating Everyday Life With Grace had been released on Kindle.  His enthusiastic news made me all excited myself to get back to writing.

I remembered, then, that there has been a little whirlwind of publications from people I know recently.  I’m hoping it is contagious and that I’ll get back to writing prompted by this creativity in the air.  Today a friend reminded me of something I know, and that is to sit down and write every day no matter what.
Apparently people around me have been doing just that, and doing it well.

Cynkay Morningsong, who sings in our choir, wrote The Four Goals of Life: A Survival Guide for the Kali Yuga, Cameo Archer wrote The Garners of Shanghai and Sanna Rose wrote Voice of Angels.
It’s not that I haven’t been writing, just not writing anything towards a specific book project, but that all going to change now that I’ve been infected by all this creativity.  And, also, because I have a project now.

Nothing like a deadline and a focus to get it going.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
