Animal Remembrance Service

Services are held twice a year in Grinton Chapel

Spring:  Friday, March 9, 2012 - 7 to 8 p.m.

Fall:  Friday, October 5, 2012 - 7 to 8 p.m.

This service will be a time to remember and honor the unconditional love we share with our animal companions. If you find your heart is in a tender place from the loss of an animal friend, please join us.

If an animal loved by you, your family or your child's pet has died during the past 12 months, please add your animal’s name(s) to the Animal Remembrance Book. The names book will be at the Animal Ministry Table every Sunday the month prior to the service as well as in the reception area during the week. The names will be read as part of the service. You may bring a photo of your animal companion to display on our Rainbow mural or bring a small memento to be on the community altar table that we will create as part of the service.

If you would like to assist in the preparation and organization of the service, contact Rev. Leslie Heckathorn at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
