About
Claire Victor, RScP, Choir Director
Music has been a longtime passion for Claire; a passion she
combines with a strong commitment to hone, stretch and expand
her talents and the talents of others. Currently, Claire exercises
her considerable abilities leading the “One Heart Choir”
at the Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa. An inspiring
facilitator, she shares a variety of vocal teaching methods,
which she has garnered from a lifetime of training and experience
in multifaceted musical arenas. In addition to directing,
Claire teaches private vocal development, and conducts transformational
workshops with the vibrations of crystal and Tibetan sound
bowls and voice.
Claire's diverse background in music has led her into a career
that is exciting and varied. Whether working with the choir,
expressing the muse with her vocal group, “Heaven 'n
Earth”, or performing original inspirational music from
her CD “Richly
Blessed and Highly Favored”, Claire creates
a vocal style that is uniquely, and expressively, hers. Originally
from New York, she received her B.A. in Theater Arts from
East Stroudsburg University, PA. In bicoastal performances,
she has shared the jazz stage with the likes of Jon Hendricks,
Mark Murphy, and Bob Dorough. Theatrically, she has performed
leading roles in numerous musicals including: Stevenson By
Heart under the musical direction of Grammy award winner Peter
Matz, I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the
Road (for which she received a Bay Area Theatre Critics Award
nomination), Anything Goes, Sweet Charity, Little Shop of
Horrors, and Cabaret. Her writing talents have resulted in
Cinnabar Theatre productions of “Cole Porter’s
People”, “Don’t Ask Me Not to Sing”,
and her own compelling cabaret shows. In addition to teaching
private voice and presenting her own voice classes,

Claire
has been a guest faculty artist at BYU - Hawaii, where she
has taught master classes in jazz vocal technique, cabaret
singing, musical theater and lyric interpretation. She most
recently has been a guest artist at the Global Sound Institute,
San Francisco, as well as at the Sound Healing Conference,
Los Angeles in February 2008.
And,
while music is certainly Claire's focus, she is also a respected
and deeply committed Religious Science Practitioner. Claire
blends her spiritual practice with her skills as a director
to provide a safe, playful, heart-opening atmosphere for others,
a place where one can experience their authentic nature in
a co-creative singing environment. In sharing her vision of
the “One Heart Choir”
Claire says, “Know that whatever you bring to the choir,
you can trust it, and it is enough. Who you are is enough
and is part of the perfect pattern that forms the unique tapestry
of the One Heart Choir. Show up and let the music sing you.”
Anyone who joins hands and voice with the “One Heart
Choir” will be sure to experience a deeper connection
in their lives both inwardly and in musical community. Together
we ignite and rekindle the passion that is in all of us..
