Music Ministry December Update

Seasons Greetings,

If you haven't yet visited our Musician's Directory have a look at what the web-folk have been up to under the music tab in the menu above.

As you've probably heard we musicians have been preparing for our upcoming Christmas Eve Candle Lighting Service and I'm so excited about it! It's not to be missed. We'll have the full band, a veritable orchestra of musicians and a 24 voice ensemble that has been rehearsing gorgeous music since September.

Thanks to a recent donation we are looking forward to the installation of a humidity control system on our Yamaha grand piano in the Sanctuary that will help us care for the instrument and keep it in good shape. Also thanks to our forwarding looking Board of Trustees for our renovation funds which you've been literally hearing the results of each Sunday as we've purchased new mic systems, new onstage monitors and made various sound upgrades, all of which have been making for better and better sound in the room and happier musicians and speakers onstage. It really is such a joy to work in a place that cares for its people and resources so beautifully.

About our Music Ministry

At the Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa, we express our devotion, joy and creativity through music. Music opens our hearts to spiritual practice.

Our house band, choir, community and guest artists are all part of what the music ministry brings to the Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa. Whether it’s drumming classes, classical music, funky gospel, chant, kirtan, special seasonal music- the center truly hums, it is all intended to create an atmosphere in which people feel that the natural home of God is in their heart.

You are invited to be a part of the music- whether it’s singing along at our Sunday Services, attending one of the concert events throughout the year, or by auditioning for our choir, by volunteering for our audio/visual team or by bringing your own creative ideas and expression in another way. I would love to hear from you to explore if there is some way you can contribute to our ministry.

By the way, I want to know what you like!

What congregational songs would you like to sing more frequently?
What songs and/or artist’s music would you like to hear more?

I’d like to hear from you. Send your response to

Chris Fritzsche, Music Director
