Monthly World Peace Meditation

Since 1986 a group of committed people have been meeting at the Center to pray and meditate together, on the last calendar day of every month (except in October when we meet on the 30th) at 7 pm. Our common intention is to focus our awareness on peace—the inner peace that is the revelation of world peace. Our vision is nothing less than the healing of humanity and the evolution of consciousness. Everyone is welcome to join us in this simple practice which usually lasts for about 45 minutes. For more information, please contact Jim or Vivian Strand, 833-6674.

Annual World Peace Meditation

December 31 at 4 am - Join your community and the rest of the world at this time to center in peace. This powerful tradition has been observed at the Center since December 31, 1986. Why 4 am? It is noon, Greenwich Mean Time, and it is December 31 in all 24 time zones. We will be meditating, singing, and praying for peace simultaneously with people throughout the world. Feel free to wear your jammies and bring a blanket.

Third Wednesday Healing Service

Dedicated to helping you increase your awareness of wholeness and experience of healing in all areas of your life, whether in body, relationships, finances, or work.

When you enter the sanctuary, you will see a special altar, where you can light a candle as a symbol of your intention to realize your heart’s desire. Also on the altar there is a “wisdom basket” where you can choose a piece of wisdom – a short bit of writing by Ernest Holmes – that may shine a light on any question or challenge you may have.  People are often delighted at how synchronistically Holmes’ words apply to their unique situations!

During the service, I provide a very brief message in which we explore how the Center’s theme of the month relates to healing. This is followed by three short readings, provided by practitioners, interspersed with some contemplative silence so that the words have the space in which to be received. Throughout the service, congregational singing and other music is provided by Chris Fritzsche and other musicians to help us embody the healing themes. A key element of the service is an extended affirmative prayer. Those present have the option of stating a prayer request aloud, or holding it in silent sanctity. I then am joined by the three practitioners in saying a prayer addressing the requests, stated or unstated.

The practitioners, musicians, and I are united in our desire to have this service assist you in experiencing the truth that you are part of a Divine Reality that is always conspiring for your good. We look forward to welcoming you on the Third Wednesday.

— Rev. Joyce Duffala

Fifth Wednesday Sacred Chant Service
An evening of sacred chant in the style of Kirtan. These services sometimes last longer than the typical 7 to 8 pm format.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
